Representing clients in all facets of business, entertainment and high technology, the firm offers both litigation and transactional knowledge. Our attorneys have litigated copyright infringement actions involving major motion pictures, disputes between actors and studios or networks, disputes between production companies and distributors, disputes between artists and managers, disputes between record labels, band dissolutions and many disputes between recording artists and labels.
The firm has successfully negotiated recording contracts on behalf of artists as well as independent labels, television contracts, writer agreements and sales agreements including option agreements for screenplays. Along with the Intellectual Property Department, copyrights and trademarks are also components of our entertainment law practice. Copyright registrations are provided for songwriters, recording artists and other entertainment creators. Trademark services include searches and opinions regarding the availability and registration of marks, the preparation, filing and prosecution of applications and oppositions, cancellations and concurrent use agreements. The firm also routinely handles acquisitions and clearances.
