Lewis Brisbois Welcomes Professional Liability Duo in San Diego

San Diego, California (June 19, 2017) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Alan Schonfeld and Corinne Bertsche to its San Diego office as partners in the Professional Liability Practice.

Schonfeld and Bertsche combined have more than 50 years of experience defending lawyers and other professionals from malpractice and other claims.

“We are very excited that Alan and Corinne have come on board as new partners to the firm,” said San Diego Managing Partner Doug Lewis. “They are already well-known in the community for their many outstanding successes in the legal malpractice defense arena. With Alan and Corinne’s skills and experience, our firmwide bench in this practice area has been greatly expanded.”

Schonfeld will head the San Diego office’s professional liability team.  He has tried more than 20 jury trials to verdict, including 14 legal malpractice and several real estate licensee jury trials. He is a certified specialist in legal malpractice law with the California Bar Legal Specialization Board.

Schonfeld also has extensive experience representing real estate brokers and agents, insurance agents, accountants, appraisers, and other professionals, as well as individuals and businesses in commercial disputes, personal injury, and product liability cases.

Schonfeld is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has received many accolades recognizing him as a top attorney in San Diego. He also acts as an expert witness and speaker on lawyer standard of care and ethical issues.

Also joining Lewis Brisbois is Bertsche, another certified legal malpractice specialist who has been working with Schonfeld for more than 20 years. She has experience representing clients in a variety of underlying cases, including dissolution, transactional, trusts, estate and probate, personal injury, employment law, medical malpractice, and other matters.
