Lewis Brisbois Expands Appellate Capabilities with Hire of Bob Marcovitch

Atlanta, Georgia (May 2, 2018) – Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Robert Marcovitch to its Atlanta office as a partner in the Appellate Practice.

Marcovitch has nearly 30 years of experience as an appellate litigator and has handled matters in both state and federal courts across the country in a wide variety of subject matters, including civil and criminal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations litigation, product liability, premises liability, class action, and more.

“We very pleased to welcome Bob Marcovitch and his wealth of appellate experience and expertise to the firm’s national appellate practice,” said Appellate Practice Chair Jeffry A. Miller.

Considered a “go-to” attorney for high-stakes appeals and consulting on large exposure cases in trial courts, Marcovitch is known for the depth and clarity of his analysis in complex legal and factual issues.

“I’m excited to join such a well-regarded firm as Lewis Brisbois and be a part of its nationwide Appellate Practice, especially since I’ve already worked with and like the folks in the Atlanta office,” Marcovitch said.

Some of Marcovitch’s recent notable results include an affirmance of a defense verdict in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in which an evidentiary ruling implicating Georgia’s collateral source rule was at issue and an affirmance of summary judgment relating to an anti-suit injunction in the Delaware Supreme Court.

“It’s rare to find someone with Bob’s talent, and we’re happy to add him to the Lewis Brisbois family,” said Atlanta Managing Partner R. Scott Masterson.

In addition to his litigation work, Marcovitch has taught a class about Georgia appellate practice at the Georgia State University College of Law. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute as well as the American Bar Association and Atlanta Bar Association.
