Walter “Pete” Swayze Quoted in Legal Intelligencer Article on the Growth of Lewis Brisbois’ Philadelphia Office

Philadelphia, PA (January 15, 2019) – Philadelphia Partner Walter “Pete” Swayze was recently quoted by The Legal Intelligencer in an article about the new team of attorneys that has joined Lewis Brisbois’ Philadelphia office. The article, titled “Lewis Brisbois Bulks Up Phila. Office with Segal McCambridge Hires,” covers Lewis Brisbois’ growing presence in the Philadelphia area and the addition of Mr. Swayze as co-chair of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice. The firm announced the new joiners in a press release on January 11, 2019.

In the article, Mr. Swayze discusses the importance of joining a firm with a national presence.

“The legal services industry has become incredibly competitive, and clients are looking to utilize less, not more lawyers, but utilize point people and have them manage cases all over the country with strong, local talent,” Mr. Swayze said. “When you have organic talent all over the country, clients can rely on point people who are familiar with the litigation.”

Eight of the ten new attorneys joining Lewis Brisbois come from the Philadelphia office of Segal McCambridge & Mahoney, Ltd.where Mr. Swayze was managing partner. Mr. Swayze commented on his team’s transition to a new firm. Mr. Swayze noted “new opportunities were presented for me and my group and my clients. It was an opportunity that had to be embraced and seized.”

Mr. Swayze also stated that working with John Salvucci, managing partner of Lewis Brisbois’ Philadelphia office and co-chair of the Life Sciences Practice was an important factor as well.
