Three Partners to Present to Collin-Fannin County Medical Society on Healthcare and Employment Law

Dallas, Texas (February 9, 2021) – Dallas Partners Leiza Dolghih and Susan Briones, along with Fort Lauderdale Partner Lee Lasris, will deliver presentations to the Collin-Fannin County Medical Society (CFCMS) on February 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT, to discuss a variety of topics relating to healthcare litigation, COVID-19-related regulation, and telemedicine expectations for 2021. 

Ms. Dolghih will present “Employment Law Tips for Healthcare Employers,” which will cover employment agreements, employee classification, tips on hiring and firing, non-competition agreements, COVID-19-related regulations, and other employment law issues that frequently arise in healthcare. 

Ms. Dolghih will also join a second presentation alongside Ms. Briones, titled “Setting Up Telemedicine Practice,” during which they will discuss federal and state regulations related to telemedicine, including new COVID-19 rules, patient privacy and confidentiality, as well as Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, and expected legislation in 2021. 

Lastly, Mr. Lasris will present “New Information Blocking Rules,” which will analyze the new information blocking rules, set to take effect in 2021, that provide Texas patients with additional rights regarding the ability to access and share their health information, and which impose additional responsibilities upon Texas medical practices and health IT developers. 

The Collin-Fannin County Medical Society is an active community of Collin and Fannin County-area physicians. CFCMS offers monthly social and educational opportunities, to help physicians connect and build relationships with their colleagues and stay on top of latest healthcare trends and changes. 

Ms. Dolghih is a Co-Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Trade Secrets & Non-Compete Disputes Practice and is often called upon by clients to assist with key employee moves between competitors.

Ms. Briones is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Healthcare Practice and has extensive experience representing healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and social workers in healthcare liability claims.

Mr. Lasris is a member of Lewis Brisbois' Corporate and Healthcare Practices and has served as counsel to numerous healthcare providers, including durable medical equipment companies, clinical laboratories, telemedicine providers, and more.
