Susan Briones to Present at ACI Conference on Opioids and Substance Abuse Litigation

Dallas, Texas (June 15, 2020) – Dallas Partner Susan E. Briones will deliver a virtual presentation at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) "Controlled Substances - Regulation, Litigation, and Enforcement" Conference on July 22 at 3:00 p.m.EST.

Ms. Briones’ discussion, titled “Recognizing Dangerous Patterns for New Drugs of Concern,” will cover a variety of topics relating to the addictive potential of certain new drugs of concern, including gabapentin, and the various state efforts to combat the opioid epidemic by modifying existing laws. She will also discuss how to recognize the abuse potential and liability of non-opioid medicines, and the training requirements and licensing protocols for prescribers and dispensers.

Ms. Briones is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Healthcare Practice and has previously presented on and written about the opioid health crisis.
