Steven Beer Successfully Negotiates Film Acquisition on Behalf of Actor and Director Manny Perez

New York, N.Y. (October 14, 2021) - New York Partner and a National Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Entertainment, Media & Sports Practice Steven Beer recently represented actor Manny Perez in the acquisition by Screen Media of all North American rights to the crime thriller film “La Soga Salvation.” The movie, which premiered at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, constitutes Mr. Perez’s directorial debut.

Mr. Perez, who also serves as the film’s screenwriter, producer, and lead actor, is becoming one of the most recognized Dominican American figures in Hollywood. His film similarly includes a diverse cast of Latinx actors. As reported in the media, including by Variety and Yahoo! Entertainment, Screen Media plans to release “La Soga Salvation” in early 2022.

Mr. Beer represents industry-leading film, television, and music companies, and has acted as counsel to numerous award-winning writers, directors, producers, and multi-platinum musical artists. He regularly negotiates rights deals for film and television projects.
