Stephen Sitley Speaks with Law360 About Move to Lewis Brisbois

Chicago, Ill. (November 25, 2019) – Newly-hired Chicago Partner Stephen L. Sitley spoke with Law360 about his recent move to Lewis Brisbois, which was announced in a November 18 press release. In the article, titled “Ex-Sears GC Moves To Lewis Brisbois’ Employment Group,” Mr. Sitley shared his reasons for joining the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice after nearly 25 years as General Counsel of the Fortune 500 company.

"[T]he beauty of it is my background [was] labor, employment and commercial litigation for many years prior to me becoming general counsel at the company," said Mr. Sitley, explaining that “[t]he firm basically offers those areas for me across the country.”

In addition to Lewis Brisbois’ nationwide footprint, Mr. Sitley was drawn to the firm by its people and their work.

"The opportunity presented itself to me and I met some people here at the firm and I liked what they were doing," Mr. Sitley told Law360.

Mr. Sitley also shared with the publication some of the reasons why he enjoys doing the work he does, stating: “You deal with everyday issues with employees. The issues are very true opportunities to resolve problems and make a workforce better for all employees.”
