Sean Hoar to Speak on Cybersecurity at WBA Annual Conference

Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 4, 2020) - Portland Partner Sean B. Hoar will discuss cybersecurity at the Western Bankers Association Annual Conference & Directors Forum, taking place February 29 to March 4 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He will join a panel titled "Son Of A Breach! Cyber Incident Response Insights, Planning and Best Practices From Bank Industry Experts" on Monday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Hoar and his fellow panelists will share the latest news on cyber threats and provide bank-specific adviceon incident response preparedness, including a review of cybersecurity insurance policy  best practices, state-by-state notification obligation analysis, reputation vulnerabilities, and much more. The panel will also discuss the importance of ERM and the looming gaps that can exist in insurance coverage.

Mr. Hoar is Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the Global Information Security Professional (GISP), and the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credentials. A former lead cyber attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon, Mr. Hoar is a frequent speaker on the intersection of cybersecurity and the law, and a regular contributor to the firm’s Digital Insights blog.
