Sean Hoar, Aubrey Weaver to Speak at NetDiligence Cyber Risk Summit

Philadelphia, Penn. (May 13, 2022) - Portland Partner Sean B. Hoar and Philadelphia Partner Aubrey L. Weaver will participate in panel discussions at the upcoming NetDiligence Cyber Risk Summit, hosted at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel from June 1-3.   

First, on June 2 at 1:45 p.m., Ms. Weaver will moderate an afternoon breakout session titled “Security Standards: What We Have, What We Need,” during which the speakers will break down insider threat visibility, and the need for relevant, actionable information when determining data privacy security standards at an organization. This panel will also discuss whether the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and Written Information Security Programs (WISP) are falling short of their objectives.  

Then, on June 3 at 11:10 a.m., in a plenary session titled “Why Talent Issues are a Bigger Threat than Ransomware,” Mr. Hoar will join a panel discussion on the talent market in the cybersecurity industry and the current shortage of professionals in the data privacy space. The panelists will also provide best practices for acquisition, development, and retention of talent as the industry continues to evolve.  

Mr. Hoar is chair of Lewis Brisbois' Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. He has extensive experience managing responses to digital crises and effectively marshaling resources to contain and remediate information security incidents. Before joining Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Hoar served as the lead cyber attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon, and has worked closely with the Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section in Washington D.C. He is a frequent speaker and writer on emerging cybersecurity issues and regular contributor to Lewis Brisbois' Digital Insights blog.  

Ms. Weaver is a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She utilizes her education in digital forensics and cybersecurity to counsel clients in proactively managing cyber risk, and to guide clients in managing and responding to data security incidents. She has a longstanding interest in technology, which aids her in continually developing her knowledge base to best serve the needs of her clients.
