Richard Lauter, Brigid Ndege to Discuss Mental Health & The Bankruptcy Process at ABI Spring Meeting

Chicago, Ill. (March 24, 2021) – Chicago Partner Richard S. Lauter and Associate Brigid K. Ndege will join a panel presentation titled, “Mental Health and The Bankruptcy Process: Dealing with Debtors/Creditors with Mental Health Issues,” at the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Virtual Annual Spring Meeting on April 15 at 3:30 ET.  

This discussion will provide an overview of mental illnesses that often confront bankruptcy courts, as well as how to handle situations that arise when mental illness is an issue in a case, or when a debtor’s mental illness affects the administration of a case. 

The ABI Virtual Spring Meeting will take place from April 12 to April 22 and will feature over 100 leading industry professionals speaking on a range of topics related to bankruptcy.

Mr. Lauter is Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice and has nearly 40 years of experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency. He is considered one of the leading lawyers for chapter 11 creditors' committees in the United States and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Ms. Ndege is also a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice and has experience in representing creditors’ committees, creditor groups, real estate development firms, and other entities in all aspects of restructuring stressed and distressed companies.
