Renowned Trial Attorney Tony M. Sain Joins Lewis Brisbois, Strengthening Its Growing National Trial Practice
Los Angeles, Calif. (October 18, 2021) – Heralded trial attorney Tony M. Sain has joined the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois as a partner in the firm’s National Trial and General Liability Practices. In his new role, Mr. Sain will join nationally renowned trial attorney Dana Alden Fox to create a powerhouse team that will provide clients with the benefit of both attorneys’ deep trial experience and impressive history of success in both jury trials and appellate advocacy. Mr. Sain will focus his practice on high exposure, bet-the-company matters in a wide variety of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases in a number of practices areas, including personal injury, tort litigation, as well as police civil liability and public entity defense.
In returning to Lewis Brisbois from Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester LLP, Mr. Sain brings with him a stellar track record of trial and appellate wins that has spanned nearly fifteen years. Indeed, since becoming a partner, Mr. Sain has secured victories in 100% of his trials over the last five years. Likewise, he has won more than 75% of his trials and 95% of his appeals over the course of his entire career. A member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Side Bar program, Mr. Sain had been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star annually for five years. Before practicing law, he also spent 10 years serving as a senior executive in a variety of corporate and non-profit organizations, where he specialized in high-stakes organizational overhauls.

In addition to practicing at Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Sain is on the panel for prosecuting criminal cases for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office on a pro bono basis. He has also trained multiple public entities on the legal implications of changes to key statutes affecting policing, and he has served as a lead lecturer for the California Peace Officers' Association’s (CPOA) seminar series. Moreover, Mr. Sain is the author of "The Pitchess Privileges: A Guide to Understanding Police Officer Personnel Record Procedural Protections In Civil Cases,” available on Amazon.com, a leading resource on the intricacies of California’s complex officer privacy laws and their intersection with the California Public Records Act.
Mr. Sain received his law degree from Loyola Law School, having completed its prestigious Hobbs Trial Advocacy Program and Williams Civil Rights Litigation Program. He also served as a litigator on the Scott Moot Court Board for competitive appellate advocacy, winning the Best Advocate award for California. Mr. Sain is also a graduate of Princeton University’s elite School of Public and International Affairs, where he obtained his degree in executive-level government. He is admitted to practice in California, all California federal courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
