Randy Aliment Named General Counsel of NWCCU

Seattle Partner Randy J. Aliment was recently named General Counsel of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities by presidents of universities in seven western states.

The NWCCU is one of seven regional organizations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit postsecondary institutions in the United States. The Northwest region includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

The mission of the NWCCU is to assure educational quality, enhance institutional effectiveness, and foster continuous improvement of colleges and universities through analytical institutional self-assessment and critical peer review based upon evaluation criteria that are objectively and equitably applied to institutions with diverse missions, characteristics, and cultures. The commission provides oversight of colleges and universities through the educational accreditation process.
