Randall Nice Receives Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award at The Burton Awards

Phoenix, Ariz. (June 28, 2022) – Phoenix Associate Randall Nice recently received the Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award at The Burton Awards ceremony, hosted at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Mr. Nice was recognized for his note, Reviving the Lost Tort of Defamation, published in the Spring 2019 issue of the Arizona Law Review.   

In his note, Mr. Nice examines the effect the Supreme Court case New York Times Co. v. Sullivan had on defamation claims brought against newspapers and broadcast news services.      

The Burton Awards are funded by the Burton Foundation, a non-profit academic and educational organization that recognizes major accomplishments in the legal profession. Held in association with the Library of Congress, The Burton Awards are sponsored by Law360 and co-sponsored by the American Bar Association. 

Mr. Nice represents individuals, contractors, and businesses in areas such as premises liability, wrongful death, and personal injury. A former Marine who served overseas, he took part in his alma mater University of Arizona’s veterans advocacy clinic, where he represented clients in Tucson's Veterans Court and assisted other clients in requesting discharge upgrades.
