Peter Garchie, Jacob Sawyer to Discuss Ethics at FETTI Annual Conference
Chicago, Ill. (August 16, 2021) – San Diego Partner Peter Garchie and Chicago Partner Jacob Sawyer will speak at the upcoming National Forum for Environmental & Toxic Tort Issues (FETTI) Annual Conference, hosted at the Union League Club of Chicago from September 29-October 1.
In a session on Friday, October 1 at 9:00 a.m., titled “The Top Ten Ethical Tips, Traps, and Temptations for Industry, Inside, and Outside Counsel,” Mr. Garchie and Mr. Sawyer, along with two insurance claims executives, will discuss the core principles of business ethics and their application. They will explain ethical duties and competing relationships, and provide guidance on how legal professionals can avoid ethical traps. CLE credits will be available for attorneys, along with CEU credits for insurance claims handlers.
Mr. Garchie is vice-chair of Lewis Brisbois' Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation Practice and is an accomplished trial attorney, having tried more than 50 jury cases to verdict. His areas of expertise include professional liability, products liability, environmental/toxic torts litigation, and commercial and intellectual property litigation.
Mr. Sawyer is a member of the firm's Toxic Tort and Environmental Litigation Practice. He focuses on defending manufacturers, premises owners, suppliers, and others in toxic tort and environmental litigation, from the initial pleading stage through verdict at trial, in the state and federal courts of Illinois and Missouri.
