Peggy Beat, Thomas Moran to Join Panels at Cleveland-Marshall School of Law Cybersecurity & Privacy Protection Online Conference

Cleveland, Ohio (September 14, 2020) – Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partner Peggy L. Beat and Associate Thomas I. Moran will join virtual panels at the Cybersecurity & Privacy Protection Conference on September 17 and 18, hosted by the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law at Cleveland State University.

Mr. Moran’s panel, “Incident Response,” will begin at 1:45 p.m.  ET on September 17. He and his fellow panelists will discuss the process of developing, implementing, and executing incident response policies and procedures before, during, and after a security breach. The session will also cover who should be on an incident response team, breach notification requirements, and the important role that cyber risk insurance can play in preparing for and responding to an cybersecurity incident.

Ms. Beat’s panel ,“Health Care Sector Deep Dive,” will begin at 4:00 p.m. ET. on September 18. The panelists will discuss how healthcare organizations are a frequent target for cybercrime due to the high volume of records they maintain with highly sensitive and valuable information. They will also discuss how COVID-19 has raised new challenges in balancing the privacy of health information with fighting the pandemic, and will offer best practices for addressing these issues.
