New York Team to Present Webinar on General Liability Appellate Updates

New York, N.Y. (June 12, 2023) – New York Partners Nicholas P. Hurzeler and James M. Strauss will present an appellate law webinar, titled “New York General Liability Appellate Updates for June 2023,” on June 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

During this 60-minute session, Messrs. Hurzeler and Strauss will cover the third quarter of 2023, with a focus on the Court of Appeals. New York’s highest court has some new justices, and has issued some important new precedents in the last several months. This engaging discussion will touch on topics such as negligent security, assumption of the risk, and volunteer firefighters, including how these areas have been influenced by the new justices. CLE credits are available.

Mr. Hurzeler is vice chair of the Appellate Practice, and has extensive experience briefing and arguing appeals in the First and Second Departments of New York’s Appellate Divisions. In addition to his appellate work, he handles extensive motion practice for a variety of general liability, products liability, and lithium-ion battery matters.

Mr. Strauss is a member of Lewis Brisbois' Appellate Practice. He has broad experience litigating securities class action lawsuits as well as commercial, insurance coverage, estate, and personal injury defense actions in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level.
