Mark Oertel Appointed as Vice-Chair of ABA/TIPS Section Committee
Los Angeles, Calif. (July 31, 2020) – Los Angeles Partner Mark A. Oertel was recently appointed as a vice-chair of the Fidelity and Surety Law General Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practices Section (ABA/TIPS) for the 2020-2021 bar year. This leadership appointment represents a recognition of Mr. Oertel's competence, experience, and commitment to ABA/TIPS and its members.
In this position, Mr. Oertel will participate heavily in ABA/TIPS meetings and conferences, which serve as key planning, leadership, and networking opportunities for ABA members. This one-year appointment commences September 1, 2020, when it will be listed in the TIPS Leadership Directory and the ABA website, and will last until the final day of the ABA's 2021 Annual Meeting, to be held in Toronto.
Mr. Oertel serves as the chair of Lewis Brisbois' Surety and Fidelity Practices. He has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of surety, fidelity, insurance law, professional liability, construction, and commercial disputes.
