Lewis Brisbois' Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team Presents "Ethics & Cybersecurity" Webinar
(July 30, 2021) - Lewis Brisbois is pleased to present the next installment of its 2021 Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Webinar Series, titled "Ethics & Cybersecurity," on August 26 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partners Shelly Hall and Kevin W. Yoegel will explore the ethical considerations specific to cybersecurity.
The webinar will analyze the tension between cybercrime and cybersecurity, including the rise in extortionate attacks involving both encryption and the theft of sensitive information. These exploits often pose notification obligations embedded with ethics issues. Certain sectors, such as legal and healthcare, may have notification obligations beyond that required by data breach notification regulations and statutes, based upon their professional ethical obligations. With heightened sophistication in social engineering campaigns, and emerging malicious technology, the challenges with cybersecurity, and the resulting ethics issues, will not be resolved anytime soon.
This webinar will provide a dynamic overview of ethics in the cybersecurity industry, impacting practitioners such as IT professionals and attorneys. In doing so, it will apply ethical frameworks to real world scenarios to depict ethics in action in the cybersecurity industry.
