Lewis Brisbois Corporate Teams Close Two Significant Transactions

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (February 8, 2023) - Fort Lauderdale and Chicago Partner Michael Gnesin recently closed two separate multimillion-dollar transactions on behalf of firm clients, with assistance from Fort Lauderdale Partner Howard Gitten and Northwest Indiana Partner John Terpstra, respectively.

In the first matter, Messrs. Gnesin and Gitten represented a national application provider company that powers billing and back-office operations for wireless communications companies in its sale to a large U.S.A./Canadian software investment holdings company. The amount of the transaction was in the high seven-figure range.

In the second matter, Messrs. Gnesin and Terpstra advised a national leader in traffic incident management solutions in its sale to a large U.S.A.-based private equity firm. The transaction amount was in the eight-figure range.

He has more than a decade of experience advising individual and corporate clients in hundreds of commercial transactions of all sizes. He is a dedicated leader with a proven track record of analyzing complex deals, identifying relevant policies and precedents, and making personal and professional recommendations to inform merger and acquisition strategy in compliance with local, state, and federal mandates.

Mr. Gitten is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Intellectual Property & Technology and Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practices. With experience as general counsel and chief technology counsel at a cutting-edge technology company as well as years of intellectual property (IP) private practice experience, Mr. Gitten advises clients in instituting cradle to grave IP regimes, licensing, and joint development programs.

Mr. Terpstra is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Corporate and Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practices. He develops client-focused strategies to maximize client goals and outcomes from the early stages of business formation through maturity and merger or sale.
