Dallas Partner Leiza Dolghih will speak at the HR Southwest Conference, one of the largest regional human resources events in the country, on October 16 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
During the presentation, titled “The Role of HR Professionals in Protecting Company Trade Secrets,” attendees will learn what trade secrets are under the law and how to protect them; what types of policies, forms, and written documents employees with access to trade secrets should sign upon onboarding; what type of policies an employee handbook should have; and what type of training employees should receive with respect to trade secrets. The session will also cover the "red flag" system that helps HR identify employees that are more likely to take the company's trade secrets upon leaving the company.
Finally, the session will cover what exit procedures the HR departments should have to minimize the theft of trade secrets as well as what immediate steps an HR department should take if trade secrets theft is discovered. Participants will understand practical aspects of trade secrets protection for HR professionals by reviewing real-life examples from high-profile cases in order to illustrate specific applications of effective trade secrets policies and procedures in the workplace.
