Lauren Godfrey to Join Panel on Digital Forensics for Lawyers

Pittsburgh, Pa. (April 21, 2021) - Pittsburgh Partner Lauren D. Godfrey will join a webinar panel hosted by the Allegheny County Bar Association titled, "Digital Forensics for Lawyers: Uncovering Hidden Evidence to Win Your Case," taking place April 27 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Uncovering the truth in the information from available data sources, especially in today's digital world, can have a significant impact on the ability to successfully prosecute or defend a criminal or civil case. However, many attorneys are often unaware of the types of artifacts that can be forensically recovered from a custodian's digital footprint. During this one-hour discussion, Ms. Godfrey and her fellow panelists will cover what forensic analysis can tell about hidden data, how to collect such data in a manner that will satisfy authentication standards under rules of evidence, and more. They will also share real-world examples in which digital forensics has creatively helped in the prosecution and/or defense of cases. CLE credits will be available.

Ms. Godfrey is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice and possesses the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She regularly counsels clients across business sectors as to best practices in information privacy and data security.
