Lauren Godfrey Named Vice-Chair within ABA/TIPS Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Committee

Pittsburgh, Penn. (July 17, 2019) – Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partner Lauren D. Godfrey has recently been re-appointed as a Vice-Chair to the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy General Committee of the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (ABA/TIPS) for the 2019-2020 bar year. Ms. Godfrey is an active member of this ABA section and has held numerous leadership positions during her time with the organization. This appointment reflects her competence and experience as well as her commitment to the organization.

As Vice-Chair to the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy General Committee, Ms. Godfrey will take part in the organization of the section’s major annual meetings, which involves planning and coordinating CLEs, various committee meetings and programs, networking, and administration. Her appointment will take effect on the last day of the 2019 ABA annual meeting in San Francisco until the last day of the 2020 annual meeting in Toronto, and will be reflected on the ABA website on September 1, 2019.

Ms. Godfrey is a partner in Lewis Brisbois’ Pittsburgh office. She possesses the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and regularly counsels clients across business sectors as to best practices in information privacy and data security.
