Data Privacy Team to Speak at ABA TIPS Cybersecurity Conference
Atlanta, Ga. (March 1, 2022) – Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Partners Lauren D. Godfrey and Lindsay B. Nickle, and Associate Namrata Joshi will speak at the upcoming American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (ABA/TIPS) Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee Conference, hosted at Georgia State University College of Law from March 3-4.
First, on March 3 at 8:30 a.m., Ms. Godfrey will moderate a panel, titled “Tales from the Frontline and Why Cyber Coverage is Critical,” featuring Ms. Joshi and other incident response experts who will discuss business strategies in response to ransomware attacks, and the planning that is often required once a data security breach has occurred. The panelists will also compare different types of cyber insurance policies.
Then, on March 4 at 8:30 a.m., Ms. Nickle will join a panel titled “The Digital and The Biologic: Emerging Trends in Healthcare Cybersecurity.” She and her fellow panelists will analyze recent cybersecurity trends in the healthcare industry, with a focus on emerging technology such as telehealth, IoMT, AI, and machine learning. They will also discuss best practices for risk mitigation, data sharing, and building strong cybersecurity infrastructure.
Ms. Godfrey is a partner in Lewis Brisbois’ Pittsburgh office. She possesses the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/European (CIPP/E) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She regularly counsels clients on best practices in information privacy and data security and assists in responding to data security incidents of all types, including ransomware, business e-mail compromises, insider threats, and protected health or financial information data breaches. Last year, she was appointed Chair-Elect of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee of the ABA/TIPS.
Ms. Nickle is a partner in Lewis Brisbois' Dallas office and a vice chair of the firm's Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She has extensive experience overseeing the process of investigating data security events and interpreting state and federal laws governing data breach response. She also guides clients through regulatory investigations arising from data security incidents and assists clients with navigating the complex process of responding to the loss, theft, or compromise of protected information.
Ms. Joshi is a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. Her practice focuses on advising clients on the ever-evolving landscape of data privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations across various industries. She assists clients in developing privacy policies and notices, comprehensive information security governance and response plans, and contracts in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
