Lauren Godfrey Co-Authors Chapter of Upcoming ABA Book, A Practical Guide to Cyber Insurance for Businesses

Pittsburgh, Pa. (March 2, 2022) – Pittsburgh Partner Lauren D. Godfrey co-authored a chapter of an upcoming book by American Bar Association (ABA) titled, “A Practical Guide to Cyber Insurance for Businesses.” She was one of four editors of the publication, which is a must-read for insurance brokers, underwriters, risk managers and businesses owners.

Divided into two parts, the book focuses on the development of cyber insurance, and various aspects and elements of cyber insurance that affect all industries, including how cyber insurance interacts with other commercial insurance coverage. It then analyzes cyber risks and cyber insurance coverage needs for specific industries, with unique characteristics of each industry segment highlighted. Work on the book was a collaborative effort by the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Committee of the ABA.

Ms. Godfrey is a partner in Lewis Brisbois’ Pittsburgh office. She possesses the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/European (CIPP/E) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She regularly counsels clients on best practices in information privacy and data security and assists in responding to data security incidents of all types, including ransomware, business e-mail compromises, insider threats, and protected health or financial information data breaches. Last year, she was appointed Chair-Elect of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee of the ABA/TIPS.
