Jim Hailey to Join Panel at IASIU Annual Seminar & Expo on Insurance Fraud

New Orleans, La. (September 10, 2021) - New Orleans Partner James W. Hailey, III will join two panel discussions at the International Association of Special Investigation Units' (IASIU) Annual Seminar & Expo on Insurance Fraud in Orlando, Florida on September 13 & 14.

In a session at 2:50 p.m. ET on September 13 titled "Legal Update - Legislation, Litigation and Fraud," Mr. Hailey and his co-panelists will provide an update on trending legislative, litigation and fraud fighting from the perspective of the insurance fraud defense and prosecution platform. 

In a session on September 14 at 8:00 a.m. ET titled "Advanced Vehicles, Unsophisticated Criminals: Using Science to Prove Your Case," the discussion will focus on the investigation and evaluation of a claim, from assistance and advisory before the assignment for the examination under oath (EUO) to building a solid case and identifying approaches that have proved successful in exposing criminal behavior.

This annual event, which runs from September 12 to 15, brings together the world's leading SIU professionals at the forefront of detecting, investigating, and deterring insurance fraud. The conference offers over 30 workshops, on topics including auto issues, property issues, medical fraud, major case/ring investigations, technology, and workers' compensation.

Mr. Hailey is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Insurance Coverage Practice. He focuses on assisting insurance and corporate clients in detecting, deterring, and defeating fraud in construction, premises, transportation, and general litigation matters, including coverage. He is also an active member of the Louisiana Bar and sits on the state's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.
