Jessica Beckwith to Speak at AWLA Ethics Webinar on Working with Impaired Colleagues and Clients

Phoenix, Ariz. (August 6, 2021) – Phoenix Partner Jessica L. Beckwith will speak at an upcoming CLE webinar hosted by the Northern Arizona chapter of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a 60-minute session on September 28 at 12:00 p.m., titled “Dealing with Impaired Colleagues and Clients,” Ms. Beckwith will present strategies for how attorneys can handle challenging situations involving impaired colleagues or clients. The webinar will also include a discussion about the new referral fee rule and an informal poll of how many participants intend to implement referral fees in their practice.

The Arizona Women Lawyers Association promotes and encourages the success of women lawyers throughout Arizona by providing members with information and support, fostering connections among women lawyers, and monitoring and celebrating the successes of their members. AWLA has also undertaken a study of gender equity practices in the State of Arizona, with the goal of identifying, creating, and promoting best practices for the workplace.

Ms. Beckwith serves as a Firmwide Assistant General Counsel at Lewis Brisbois. She has extensive experience in attorney regulation and ethics and has advised law firms on matters relating to bar charges in Arizona and State Bar complaints in California, as well as fee disputes, disciplinary matters, disqualification issues, bar admissions, and other ethics issues. She is also frequently retained as an expert witness in attorney ethics matters.
