Jane Luxton to Moderate Antitrust Webinar Sponsored by Regulatory Transparency Project
Washington, D.C. (September 1, 2021) – Washington D.C. Managing Partner Jane C. Luxton will moderate a webinar sponsored by the Regulatory Transparency Project and hosted by The Federalist Society, titled “Competition at a Crossroads: Will the Executive Order on Competition Advance Competition, or Restrict It?,” on September 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET. She will be joined by an FTC journalist, an antitrust advocate, and two policy professors.
Ms. Luxton will guide this expert panel as they cover a July 2021 Executive Order by the Biden Administration that directed agencies to pursue 72 specific initiatives to tackle the most pressing competition problems. The panel will discuss whether these initiatives enhance the role of competition or simply replace the outcomes of competitive markets with regulatory requirements
The Regulatory Transparency Project is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that focuses on fostering discussion and a better understanding of regulatory policies.
Ms. Luxton is the co-chair of several Lewis Brisbois practices, including the Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice, the Government Relations Practice, the Environment, Land, & Natural Resources Law Practice, the Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice, and the Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Practice. She is also vice-chair of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Practice. She has extensive experience in federal regulatory policy and litigation matters, and advises businesses, associations, and coalitions in navigating all levels of the federal regulatory process, including appellate advocacy.
