Jane Luxton to Join Panel on Climate Change Litigation at Law Seminars International Conference

Washington, D.C. (November 1, 2021) – Washington D.C. Managing Partner Jane C. Luxton will join a virtual panel discussion on climate change litigation at the Law Seminars International "Climate Change: Policy, Law, and Science" conference on November 19 at 8:45 a.m. ET.  

With an increased global focus on climate change action, the federal government is working with states, municipalities, the international community, and businesses to address the causes and consequences of global warming. This informative 75-minute panel titled "Going to Court: Climate Change Litigation Theories and Defenses," will feature legal experts who will share their thoughts on evaluating and adapting to specific regulatory initiatives. They will also provide updates on legal theories and defenses for climate change litigation in the context of a variety of industries and economic sectors. CLE credits are available. 

Law Seminars International is a provider of continuing education programs for attorneys, land use planners, and environmental professionals. The organization seeks to provide information in its full context so that attendees can have a more comprehensive understanding of issues as they arise. 

Ms. Luxton is the co-chair of several Lewis Brisbois practices, including the Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice, the Government Relations Practice, the Environment, Land, & Natural Resources Law Practice, the Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice, and the Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Practice. She is also vice-chair of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Practice. She has extensive experience in federal regulatory policy and litigation matters, and advises businesses, associations, and coalitions in navigating all levels of the federal regulatory process, including appellate advocacy.
