George Pitcher and Tessan Wess to Present at OADC 2021 Annual Convention
Sunriver, Ore. (May 21, 2021) – Portland Partners George Pitcher and Tessan Wess will speak at the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel’s (OADC) 2021 Annual Convention, taking place June 17 – 19 at the Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.
Ms. Wess will participate in the Excellence in Remote Jury Research (Part I) session, hosted by Tsongas Litigation Consulting and scheduled for June 18 at 8:30 a.m. PT. During the session, Ms. Wess will deliver an opening statement for a mock employment discrimination case to a panel of randomly selected mock jurors.
Mr. Pitcher will present the popular “Lightning Round – Pitch Perfect Practice” on June 19 at 9:45 a.m. PT. During this 60-minute session, participants will discuss various “scintillating” topics for seven minutes each, including Licensing Board Disciplinary Actions, e-Discovery in the Zoom Age, and a Defendant’s Seven Most Important Steps to Prevailing on Appeal.
The OADC is a non-profit professional organization for defense-oriented civil litigators that addresses defense issues in Oregon. This annual event, which is open to OADC members only, offers an opportunity to network with colleagues and earn CLE credits. All CLE sessions will take place virtually this year, while all social gatherings will occur in person.
Mr. Pitcher serves as a vice-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ Asbestos Litigation Practice. He focuses his practice on products liability, professional liability, and commercial litigation, acting as both national and local counsel to defendants in products liability litigation. Mr. Pitcher served as president of the OADC in 2019, and spent six years on its board of directors prior to becoming president.
Ms. Wess focuses her practice on defending individuals and businesses in a wide variety of complex matters including premises liability regarding retailer, hospitality, and hotel-related claims, product liability, and catastrophic bodily injury claims. Additionally, Ms. Wess has extensive experience with first party coverage issues and bad faith litigation.
