Los Angeles Partner George Nowotny recently had a defense verdict in which the plaintiff sought more than $28 million featured in the Daily Journal.

The suit stems from complications following a woman’s successful surgery that eventually resulted in death. Her husband and adult son filed the suit, alleging that the certified registered nurse anesthetist administrated medication that was contraindicated and without the decedent’s consent, among other claims. Nowotny argued that the CRNA met the standard of care and did not cause the plaintiff’s alleged injuries. The jury returned a verdict on behalf of the CRNA.
