Francis Pileggi Participates in LexBlog Webcast On the Benefits of Blogging

Wilmington, De. (September 11, 2020) - Wilmington Managing Partner Francis G.X. Pileggi recently participated in a LexBlog webcast with host Bob Ambrogi of "This Week in Legal Blogging," during which Mr. Pileggi discussed how maintaining his Delaware Corporate & Commercial Litigation Blog since 2004 has benefited his legal career.

During the discussion, Mr. Pileggi explained that he initially decided to launch a blog because he wanted to establish a presence on the Internet. “I wanted to have some way of influencing what people found when they searched for my name on the Internet,” he said. Mr. Pileggi described how his blog has, in fact, yielded significant tangible and intangible benefits. He explained that in addition to earning “millions of dollars in fees” from clients who reached out to him after reading his blog, he also has improved his writing and polished his cyber footprint.

Mr. Pileggi further noted that authoring his blog has enhanced his skills and perspectives as an attorney, stating, “There’s no question about it - it helps me to be a better lawyer because I remember the cases better.” Moreover, in sharing his thoughts on creating a meaningful blog post, Mr. Pileggi emphasized the importance of remembering the target audience. Understanding that the attorneys who access his blog do not have time to read lengthy posts, Mr. Pileggi designs his content to provide key highlights from cases and to describe, as succinctly as possible, why a particular matter is important.

Finally, Mr. Pileggi shared his belief that blogging can greatly enhance an attorney’s practice “as long as you’re willing to work hard and make sure that you generate high quality content.”

Mr. Pileggi is a member of the firm's Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice. He focuses primarily on high-stakes disputes of corporations, stockholders, members of boards of directors, members and managers of LLCs, and those with managerial or ownership interests in other forms of entities.
