Ellen Greiper to Continue Serving as President of NAWIC New York Chapter, Reappointed to Advisen Casualty Currents Executive Board

New York, N.Y. (July 10, 2020) - New York Partner Ellen H. Greiper will continue to serve in important leadership roles within two professional industry organizations this year, as she recently was appointed to serve as President of the Greater New York/Long Island chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) for a second term, and was also appointed to serve again on the Advisen Casualty Currents Executive Board.

As President of NAWIC’s New York chapter for the 2020-2021 term, Ms. Greiper will continue to advance the mission of NAWIC, a national organization with over 6,000 members that focuses on enhancing the success of women in the construction industry. She was first appointed to the position in July 2019.

In her position on Advisen’s Casualty Currents Executive Board, Ms. Greiper will work with her colleagues to shape the content and agenda for the 2020 Advisen Insights Conference, taking place on August 11-13 and August 18-20, 2020. The conference will address market trends and strategies for risk managers and businesses as they face the challenges of a volatile market and global pandemic. Ms. Greiper was also a member of the advisory board for last year’s Casualty Insights Conference.

Ms. Greiper is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Construction Practice. She has more than three decades of experience defending multi-party construction and construction defect cases in the state and federal courts of New York. A prolific author and frequent speaker on emerging legal issues, Ms. Greiper is a member of several professional industry organizations, including the Construction Specifications Institute, DRI’s Construction Defect Committee, and Professional Women in Construction. She also has previously advised and chaired major industry conferences, including DRI’s Construction Law Conference, Advisen’s Big Nasty Claims Conference, and the Construction Defect, Claims & Litigation ExecuSummit.
