Data Privacy Team to Present Webinar on California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)

Los Angeles, Calif. (October 6, 2022) – Indianapolis Partner John C. Babione and Portland Associate Abby Swanson Garney, members of Lewis Brisbois’ Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team, will present a webinar on the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) on October 27 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

This informative session will focus on practical steps companies can take now to prepare for the new law, with the January 1, 2023 effective date looming. Organizations in California should actively take a close look at their privacy and security programs, and be prepared to tackle some of the critical updates that will be required under the CPRA. Mr. Babione provides compliance advisory services to clients, assisting them proactively navigate the legal landscape of data privacy and security. He advises clients on a wide range of state, federal and international privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the European Union General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR).

Ms. Garney advises clients on strategies to develop and strengthen their privacy programs to meet their unique business needs and comply with a complex emerging framework of privacy laws including the CCPA and GDPR. She also drafts policies, procedures, technology agreements, incident response plans, data subject access request policies, and other elements of a robust privacy program to help clients proactively manage risk.
