Charles Cole to Present on Courtroom Tactics at IADC Annual Meeting

Ketchum, Idaho (August 23, 2019) – Chicago Partner Charles Cole will deliver a presentation at the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) 55th Annual Meeting on September 21st at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho.

Beginning at 8:00 a.m., Mr. Cole’s presentation, “The Courtroom as Theatre?,” will explore how trial lawyers can and should use theatrical tactics to persuade a jury as to a lawyer’s point of view. The discussion will address best practices on handling movement in the courtroom, the direct and cross-examination of witnesses, and story-telling that happens in opening statements and closing arguments. Finally, Mr. Cole will cover the involvement of the other “actors” in the courtroom, including the judge, clerk, and bailiff.

The IADC was founded over 50 years ago and promotes the highest professional and ethical standards for the state’s civil defense and business attorneys, serving members through education and professional development.

Mr. Cole is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ national Medical Malpractice team. His practice focuses on defending physicians and other health care providers.
