Cameron Kalunian, Monica Kalunian to Speak at West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar

Los Angeles, Calif. (May 3, 2022) - Los Angeles Partners Cameron M. Kalunian and Monica M. Kalunian will speak at the 28th Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar, hosted at the Disneyland Resort Hotel in Anaheim on May 12-13. 

In a session on May 13 titled “Friendly Fire – Reconciling Coverage Disputes with the Best Interests of All Parties,” they will join a panel of construction risk managers and policy-holder side coverage counsel to discuss the impact of coverage disputes on underlying litigation. The session will focus on the common and emerging coverage disputes in construction litigation and then examine their unintended consequences. The panelists will also discuss best practices for communications between and among clients, claims handling professional, coverage counsel and defense counsel. This is a must-attend event for insurance professionals that handle claims involving bodily injury or property damage claims arising out of construction disputes related to projects with multi-tiered contractors. CLE credits are available for attorneys, along with CEU credits for insurance claims handlers.

Mr. Kalunian is vice-chair of the nationwide Construction Practice, and a member of the Complex Litigation Practice. His practice focuses on multi-party litigation in a wide variety of cases involving claims related to breach of contract, fraud, unfair business practices, real estate, construction defect disputes, and various tort claims. Additionally, he has served as litigation counsel for both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses in matters involving intellectual property, employment, real estate, financial institutions, and environmental claims. 

Ms. Kalunian is a member of the Insurance Coverage Practice. She represents insurance companies in contribution, reimbursement, declaratory relief, and bad faith actions, including cases arising out of complex insurance coverage issues in the areas of commercial general liability, auto liability, errors and omissions liability, and excess and umbrella coverage.
