Alecia Walters-Hinds to Join ABOTA Panel on History of the 19th Amendment
New York, N.Y. (August 5, 2020) – New York Partner Alecia Walters-Hinds will join a captivating panel discussion via Zoom titled “100th Anniversary of Women’s Voting Rights – Passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,” hosted by the New York City Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) & The Defense Association of New York on August 18 beginning at 5:45 p.m.
This virtual presentation will cover a variety of topics regarding the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote in August of 1920. Panelists will cover how the amendment was passed, how women were brought into the polling booth in the early years, and how women used the power of the vote to stand for election. The panelists will also discuss the road ahead on the path to full gender equality.
Ms. Walters-Hinds is the President of the New York City ABOTA chapter and vice-chair of Lewis Brisbois’ General Liability Practice. Her practice focuses on defense of claims in a variety of areas.
