Michelle H. Zmugg

Michelle H. Zmugg is a partner in the Walnut Creek office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Ms. Zmugg has represented national and local clients in state and federal employment matters. Ms. Zmugg’s practice includes defending employers in all phases of employment litigation including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and whistleblower claims, and alleged wage and hour violations. In addition to her extensive trial experience, Ms. Zmugg provides advice and counseling to her clients, which includes drafting employee handbooks, policies and developing best practices, conducting harassment and management training sessions and performing workplace investigations.

She has extensive experience with trial preparation and has first-chaired two solo trials resulting in defense verdicts. Ms. Zmugg was also an Intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Solicitor General in Washington D.C. where she reviewed briefs submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.
