Lourdes Vetrano is a litigation associate in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation, Products Liability, and General Liability Practices. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
Ms. Vetrano's primary focus is asbestos litigation, where she defends clients in personal injury cases for claims arising from exposure to asbestos. She started practicing this area of law at a New York City defense firm prior to joining Lewis Brisbois appearing at multiple depositions and assisting in trial preparation on behalf of corporations.
Ms. Vetrano began her legal career serving as an Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx District Attorney's Office in the Trial Division, where she gained significant courtroom experience by trying multiple jury and bench trials to verdict and litigating hearings on evidentiary issues. She managed a full caseload of violent felony and misdemeanor charges from inception to disposition and also secured numerous felony indictments by presenting evidence to the Grand Jury. Ms. Vetrano later specialized in prosecuting illegal possession of firearms, which entailed gathering and investigating evidence, providing thorough legal and constitutional analyses for case assessments, and engaging in extensive motion practice regarding DNA evidence. Additionally, she supervised junior ADAs in hearings/trials, assisted the Litigation Training Unit in training new classes of ADAs, and volunteered as a coach for the Office's high school mock trial program.
Ms. Vetrano received her Juris Doctor from Villanova University's Charles Widger School of Law, where she served on the Moot Court Board, National Trial Team, Asian-Pacific American Law Student Association, and the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law J. Willard O'Brien American Inn of Court. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University.
