Hussain Turk

Hussain Turk is an associate in the Orange County office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Hussain is a passionate litigator and advocate with substantial experience representing clients in labor and employment law disputes. Hussain began his legal career providing direct aid to underserved communities at the Los Angeles HIV Law & Policy Project (“LA HLPP”), where he served as Staff Attorney and eventually as LA HLPP's Acting Director. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Hussain represented plaintiffs at one of the nation’s most prominent victims’ and employees’ rights boutique firms. Hussain has worked on several high profile cases and has been quoted by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and RadarOnline, among others. in 2018 and 2019 he second-chaired the legal team representing Blac Chyna (aka Angela White) in her divorce from Rob Kardashian as well as in her commercial litigation/bad faith dispute with Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian-West, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner.

Hussain also served as co-counsel and lead organizer in the grassroots movement to apprehend notorious serial killer and sexual predator Ed Buck. As a result of Hussain’s efforts, Buck is now serving a 30-year federal prison sentence. Hussain’s vast practical knowledge of victims’ and employees’ rights makes him exceptionally qualified to defend employers and managers against the frivolous claims of disgruntled former employees that have proliferated in recent years. He knows first-hand how the plaintiffs’ bar litigates and, unlike most defense attorneys, he is uniquely positioned to anticipate his opponent’s next moves.

In addition to his labor and employment practice, Hussain provides pro bono representation to LGBTQ+ refugees seeking defensive asylum in removal proceedings. He has successfully paroled one gay Tunisian and two transgender Guatemalan asylum-seekers from the Otay Mesa federal detention center, and in 2019 he succeeded in securing the status of Withholding of Removal for a gay Honduran in a contentious administrative trial before the Executive Office of Immigration Review. Hussain is a volunteer panel attorney with the AIDS Legal Services Project of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
