Sebastian D. Torres

Sebastian Torres is an associate in the Cincinnati office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. Sebastian has extensive experience litigating civil matters related to tort law such as wrongful death, product liability, premises liability, and trucking cases.

Sebastian’s civil practice also includes matters dealing with the First Amendment and constitutional law. Specifically, state and federal election law compliance, non-profit advocacy law, and free speech litigation. Sebastian is dedicated to ensuring that your organization is able to effectively advocate in the public arena.

Sebastian enjoys advocating on issues that are personally important to him. For instance, Sebastian was instrumental in drafting and advancing legislation to protect free speech on college campuses. Sebastian worked alongside the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, to draft and advocate for Kentucky House Bill 254 which requires that public postsecondary institutions have policies to protect student and faculty speech, and institute a prohibition on unreasonable outdoor restriction on speech such as free speech zones. As a result of his advocacy efforts, Sebastian was invited to the White House to take part in President Donald Trump’s executive order signing ceremony in which he directed the Department of Education to begin instituting measures to protect the First Amendment.

Sebastian’s advocacy efforts at both the federal and state level through lobbying and campaign efforts have developed special expertise in the public policy arena. He will work tirelessly to ensure that issues important to his clients are advanced in the legislature.
