Marina Samson

Associate

Marina Samson is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice.

Marina has experience defending clients in various legal actions including but not limited to business litigation, labor and employment, environmental, and corporate matters in state and federal courts. Marina counsels clients on a wide range of employment-related issues, including employee discipline and termination, lay-off procedures, reasonable accommodations under the ADA and FEHA, leaves of absence under Family Medical Leave Act and state laws, wage and hour laws, and harassment and discrimination issues. Marina drafts corporate agreements, company policies and employee handbooks and conducts training seminars, including sexual harassment prevention training. She also conducts investigations into allegations of alleged workplace misconduct.  Marina has represented clients in various legal actions including but not limited to business litigations, federal criminal investigations and trials, civil rights violations, FEHA and Title VII labor and employment disputes in state and federal courts on plaintiff and defendant sides. She has independently handled defense of single-plaintiff cases from inception to successful resolution through all stages of litigation.

Marina graduated from Loyola Marymount University on the Dean’s List and with the Alpha Kappa Delta Honor by International Honor Society of Sociologists. She went on to receive her J.D. at Southwestern Law School in the top 20 percent of her class and received multiple scholarships including the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the CALI for Excellence and Witkin Awards for the highest grade in Constitutional Law. Marina has served as a judicial extern to the Honorable André Birotte for the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and as a full-time law clerk to the United States Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division. 
             
Marina is fluent in Armenian and Russian languages.
