Shawna Ruetz is an associate in the Denver office of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice.
Shawna represents employers before administrative agencies and in all aspects of employment litigation in both federal and state courts. Additionally, Shawna advises and counsel employers on employment practices and policies.
Shawna has a diverse civil litigation background that includes employment and labor law, commercial litigation, general liability, insurance defense, and insurance coverage claims with an emphasis in matters involving bad faith, professional liability, and products liability.
Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Shawna worked for a boutique litigation firm and an Am Law 200 law firm, as well as completed several internships including with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office in the Civil Litigation and Employment Law Section, for Magistrate Judge Craig B. Shaffer at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the U.S. Department of Labor in the Office of the Solicitor.
Additionally, Shawna has a background in human resources, having worked for a human resources consulting firm, a Fortune 1000 company and a local municipality. Shawna received a Workplace Law Certificate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver.
