Ellen C. Rudolph

Associate

Ellen Rudolph is an associate attorney in the Kansas City and Wichita offices of Lewis Brisbois and is a member of the Labor & Employment and General Liability practices. Ellen is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri state and federal courts.

Ellen is an experienced trial attorney with a focus on employment discrimination, Title IX, and civil rights litigation. Ellen represents employers of all sizes, hospitals, colleges and universities, school districts, and K-12 schools when claims are brought against the entities for discrimination (including age, gender, race, disability); retaliation; negligence; negligent supervision; and Title IX violations.

Ellen’s experience runs the full gamut of litigation -- from discovery practice; motion and brief drafting; oral argument in front of state and federal judges; to jury trial. Ellen also has extensive experience negotiating and mediating cases to reach reasonable settlement outcomes for her clients.

In 2019, Ellen Rudolph and Lewis Brisbois Managing Partner Alan Rupe obtained a complete defense verdict for their physician client after a lengthy two-week jury trial that involved claims of breach of contract and intentional interference with contractual and prospective business advantage. Contributing to this trial success, Ellen drafted and argued trial motions and briefs, direct examined and cross-examined lay witnesses, and direct examined and cross-examined economic expert witnesses. Following a highly contentious trial and closing arguments, the jury returned a judgment against the co-defendants, but found our client not responsible for any of the plaintiff’s damages and entered judgment in our client’s favor.

Ellen is a fierce advocate for her clients. On top of her jury trial success, Ellen has used her writing and oral argument skills to successfully secure Summary Judgment and other favorable outcomes for her clients.
