Ashley N. Rodgers

Partner

Ashley Rodgers is a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Professional Liability, Healthcare, Asbestos Litigation, and General Liability Practices. Ashley is also Vice-Chair of the National Transportation Group, as well as Associate Editor of the National Transportation Group Newsletter. She represents clients in a wide range of cases, including toxic tort and environmental matters, medical malpractice claims, and employment disputes.

Ms. Rodgers also has experience in civil commercial litigation, including dram shop actions, municipal law matters, trucking litigation, and construction litigation. In her professional liability practice, Ms. Rodgers has experience in representing various professionals, including architects, homeowners’ associations, and members of the legal profession. She has also represented healthcare professionals and facilities facing claims of medical error, negligence, and wrongful death. 

Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Ms. Rodgers has represented clients in state and federal courts, as well as before various administrative tribunals, including the Workers' Compensation Court, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Rights Commission, and the Allegheny County Human Relations Commission.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University School of Law, Ms. Rodgers enjoys exploring Western Pennsylvania's cultural and historical sites with her husband and dogs.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained early dismissal of client police department, officer, and former Chief based on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the plaintiff’s failure to comply with court orders and failure to state a claim upon relief can be granted.
  • Obtained dismissal of client real estate agency for failure of the plaintiff to join indispensable parties and failure to provide evidence to support a claim under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
  • Obtained dismissal on the pleadings for client Homeowners Association (HOA) in a case in which the HOA was alleged to have unfairly applied the association rules as to its members, and intentionally inflicted emotional distress on the plaintiffs and their family by showing a failure to join indispensable parties and a failure to plead sufficient facts to show that the HOA violated any of its rules.
  • Obtained early dismissal of client in Pennsylvania federal court for client architectural firm for lack of personal jurisdiction.
