Rachel Cobble Pitts is an associate in the Jackson office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice.

Rachel, CIPP/US, consults with and represents clients regarding cybersecurity incidents as a member of a team of attorneys who provide 24/7 guidance through critical steps of breach response. This includes initial risk analysis pertaining to operational disruption, sensitive data release, reputational consequences, as well as the compliance obligations that follow. She has vast experience with security incidents involving malware, network intrusion, inadvertent disclosure and ransomware.

Rachel’s experience with the requirements of HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, ITAR, GDPR, state data breach notification laws, and other related data privacy regulations and guidance allows her to provide counsel pertaining to all other types of data privacy concerns. She represents clients in handling and diffusing privacy complaints, facilitating regulatory investigations and assessing internal data privacy frameworks.

Additionally, Rachel has years of litigation, trial and appellate experience related to a wide range of disputes. This and her business education greatly enhance her ability to counsel companies, including management teams and boards of directors, regarding their data security and privacy.
