Pamela Palpallatoc


Pamela Palpallatoc is a partner of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. She is a guardian of industry, exceptionally equipped to protect businesses and manage challenges of modern-day commerce. She delivers a full suite of employment litigation defense services, pre-suit through post-litigation compliance, as well as commercial transactions for employers, drafting contracts and handbooks, risk prevention advice and counseling, workplace training, analyzing privacy, investigations, and COVID-19 response. Before state and federal courts and employment-related agencies, she defends employers in all aspects of employment law, including single-plaintiff lawsuits and class actions involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour, and government charges and investigations. She began defending businesses and advising on contemporary employment and labor law topics such as community - police relations, automation, and independent contractor status, over 10 years ago. Her industry experience representing management, human resources, people operations, and workplaces, comprises of entertainment and media, healthcare, fitness and wellness, technology, insurance, professionals (doctors, dentists, accountants, fiduciaries, attorneys, veterinarians), sports and recreation, hospitality, finance, law enforcement, education.

To prevent bias, discrimination, and harassment, she partners with executive level management utilizing an unparalleled specialty in workplace training and counseling built over two decades of academic research (including a degree in African & African American Studies), professional experience, and practical application of expertise in diversity, inclusion, belonging, dignity, and humanization. She collaborates with decision-makers to conduct root-cause assessments yielding sustainable, trauma-informed, innovative solutions for systemic causes of racial tension, gender inequity, LGBTQ+ invisibility, xenophobia, ageism, and ableism, including microaggressions. Using certifications in yoga and mental health first-aid, she provides specialized harassment prevention training to help businesses fulfill legal training requirements for managers and employees. Her experience in trusts and estates equips her to advise family-owned and operated businesses to simultaneously scale and preserve the integrity of core family values while business grows to meet the demands of industry.

Prior to joining the firm, she served an Am Law 100 firm focused on defending management and Human Resources on employment and labor law, an AV rated litigation firm with a national reputation for jury trial wins, and multiple general counsels, including the Office of General Counsel for the University of California Office of the President. She also evaluated coverage issues and exposure risks for a national insurer of professional liability, employment practices liability, and cyber coverage.
