Lucy G. Ohlsen

Lucy Ohlsen is an associate in the Portland office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. She practices Labor & Employment, Appellate, and occasionally Landlord-Tenant Law. Lucy utilizes her former experience as a journalist to tell compelling stories on behalf of her clients. Growing up the daughter of a small business owner and self-employed CPA in Santa Fe, NM, Lucy is attentive to the unique challenges and needs of her clients no matter the reason they seek legal expertise.

Before joining Lewis Brisbois, Lucy served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge James C. Egan on the Oregon Court of Appeals. As Judge Egan’s Clerk, Lucy drafted opinions in a number of civil, administrative, and criminal appeals. Her greatest achievement was assisting Judge Egan in writing a dissent to an opinion that the Supreme Court of Oregon later determined had stated the correct rule of law.

Lucy’s practice also benefits from the diverse set of experiences she sought in law school. In particular, Lucy spent a summer serving as a fellow to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden in his Washington, D.C. office, clerked in the Litigation Department for the Oregon School Boards Association, and externed in the General Counsel’s office of Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Lucy is devoted to supporting public education and quality journalism. She spends most of her spare time running or otherwise enjoying the outdoors.
