Lovecia A. Oglesby is an associate in the Tampa office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. Her primary area of practice is liability defense, insurance defense and general litigation. Prior to practicing general litigation, Lovecia practiced Maritime law, in Coral Gables, Florida, wherein she handled cases against industry giants such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. Mrs. Oglesby has experience in the various stages of civil litigation, including, discovery, motion practice, deposition, mediation, and trial. She is also admitted to practice law in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
While attending law school, Lovecia was chosen to compete in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition and successfully advanced to multiple rounds of the trial. Lovecia served as a LexisNexis Associate, assisting law students with research navigation in the highly regarded LexisNexis research database. She also worked as an intern and later as a law clerk at the Fort Lauderdale Office of Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division.
