Amanda Novak is an associate in the Minneapolis office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. Amanda holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials. She assists clients in responding to data security incidents, including advising clients in their response efforts, coordinating digital forensics and remediation, advising on data breach notification statutes, facilitating the fulfillment of consumer and regulatory notification obligations, and responding to government, regulatory, and media inquiries. Amanda also advises clients on compliance with foreign, federal, and state privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act.

While in law school at the University of Minnesota, Amanda was an editor for Minnesota Law Review, where she wrote on legal issues related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Amanda also was the student director for the Human Rights Litigation & International Advocacy legal clinic and advocated for measures combating violence against women on behalf of one of her clients at the United Nations. Amanda has volunteered for the Asylum Law Project, the Advocates for Human Rights, Tubman, the Native American Services Project, and the International Refugee Assistance Project to provide pro bono legal services to clients locally and around the globe. As a volunteer instructor for the American Red Cross, Amanda has taught legal workshops on the laws of armed conflict/international humanitarian law.
